Laura Bell was born 25 April 1905 in Brewton (Escambia County), Alabama. Laura married 23 July 1924 in Monroeville (Monroe County), Alabama Ubie Blackshire Matheny, Sr. Ubie was born 15 August 1901 in Goodway (Monroe County), Alabama and died 10 June 1946 in Edinburg  (Hidalgo County), Texas. Laura Baggett Matheny died 23 September 1986 in San Carlos (Hildalgo County), Texas. They are buried next to each other at the hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery in Edinburg, Texas.
