FAMILY HEIRLOOM

A pair of trousers, made according to a pattern of "ye olden times," a decided curiosity, a family heir-loom, which have been handed down from generation to generation, are temporarily in the possession of The News editor.

The "pants" are made of cotton, hand spun and woven, and were worn during the Revolutionary War by William Malphus, great grandfather of Rev. Ned Granberry Baggett of Brewton Route 2. Mr Malphus lived on Big Escambia Creek, eight miles north of Flomaton, where he died at the ripe old age of ninety years. He was from Ireland and fought in thhe Revolutionary War.

We will send the trousers to the Department of Archives and History at Montgomery for preservation.
