Comments:	I'm interested in if the Bromley Baggett y male chromosone haplogroup is known. The Stafford-2 family group I belong to had theirs done and I would like to compare the two to see if they are the same or different. Since the Stafford-2 Y gene is pretty rare, this could finally give me an answer to if the Stafford-2 line could possibly be connected to the Stafford-Bagot line. Comments:	Just wanted to say "hello" and mention that Gid Foreman referenced in the Baggett Indian massacre story was the husband of my 3rd great aunt, Nancy MacKey. I have an 1860 letter from Nancy's brother Elias in Hill County, TX. to their sister Mahala (my 3rd great grandmother)in El Monte, CA, indicating that Nancy had come to his house to live after Gid's death and she was not doing well - as we can imagine! Comments:	continued. Then in "Burials" page 135 shows 1614 John Bagot son of Hervie Bagot buried 27th daie of January (maybe this should be 1615? Although the New Year began in May at that time). In addition "Collins" book on the English familes on page 528 also gives the same information. I can't find any other John listed as a son who may have gone to London and then to Virginia. Is there a link that is not shown or that I am missing? John's children Baptisms were done in London, yet the Bagot family church was in Stafforshire. I cann't see where the connection is between John Baggett who came to Virginia and the Bagot's of Old England. Believe that the connection is not correct.

Comments:	I know that most of the sites tracing the early Baggetts start in Va and NC with John (of Surry or Isle of Wright)who came to the colonies in 1660 from London, England. He is normally listed as being born in 1613, first son of Hervey Bagot, Baron of Bagots/Bromley. Many sites show the family line with "i. John Baggett was born Mar 19, 1613 in London, Middlesex, England, was christened Mar 16 1614 in Blithfield, Stafforshire, England, and died between 1657 and 1705 in Virginia." However, Lord William Bagot's 1823 book "Memorials of the Bagot Family". (In Goggle - looking for Bagot Bromley -going to page 3 - and calling up "Memorials of the Bagot Family" the whole book is on line.) On Page 59 it lists Hervey Bagots family and shows first son John, mother Katherine Adderley, and lists as dying as infant. In Book II, page 129 "Baptisms" shows John 26 die of Marche 1614, son of Hervey Bagot. Then in "Burials" page 135 shows 1614 John Bagot son of Hervie Bagot buried 27th daie of January (

Comments:	I would have sent a direct email, but a tab is popping that says i dont have the right software. Regardless, this is very VERY interesting. I have found plenty of information on Blythefield Hall and linneage since Hervey, but Ive never seen the origins in france before, though I had guessed it was so. As for my branch of the family, we have never gotten farther back than the 1880's with WIlliam Samuel Bagot in Pierce City Missouri. By the time we got interested in our linneage my gandfather had forgotten too much to remember his great grandfathers name. But we have never met another family with our last name, and with the myself as the exception, every generation of first born males in my branch have been named william, which seems to be the British family's name of choice. That being said, we figure we are related because of the rarity of the unamericanized form of the name. Anyways, I just wanted to say how interesting the information was, and thank you for making this site.

Comments:	What a wonderful site. I'm ashamed to say I don't know much about my family history, but this has jump-started me. Thank you Maury for helping me put it in perceptive. I was born in Florence S.C. in 1958, my parents names are Mack Henry Baggett and Avis Milum Baggett. I'm not sure where their origin came from, however I will be doing research and will get back in touch with you, hopefully I will be able to make a connection. It would be great to be able to see where we fall in the chain of life and the history we were part of. Again thank you Maury and hopefully we will be able to link up our history.
