We have found several more lineages in the United States that may or may not connect with the Nicholas Baggett lineage. However, we do believe that these lineages we are presenting here actually connect somewhere with the trunk or the stems of the Family Tree in America that we have posted as descendants of Nicholas Baggett. The most obvious one is the lineage of Pauline Baggott of Maryland and Marjorie Ellen Baggett of Virginia. Both these lineages are found in Charles County, MD, Spotsylvania County, VA, and Fairfax County, VA.
John Baggott, born 1644 in England (son of John who is found in England and came to America in ca. 1660 and is found in Surry County living with Sam Swann in 1683) (conjectural), is probably the same John Baggott who had a son by the same name born in 1679, who leased land in 1746 in Charles County, MD. The ages of himself and his sons are shown as John Baggott, age 67; son John Bowling Baggott, age 32; and son Samuel Baggott, age 27. This John Baggott is probably the same John that married Mary Hagoe in 1714 (who received 100 acres from her father in his will the same year). John Bowling Baggott would have been born in 1714, according to documents, and there is reason to believe that his father is the same John that married Mary Hagoe in the first part of 1714.
We have found five generations of Johns listed: John Baggott, born ca. 1613; John II, born 1644; John III, born 1679; and John IV (or John Bowling), born 1714 in Maryland and settled in Fredericksburg, a bricklayer by occupation. He bought lot number 179 in that town in 1767. Charles County, MD is now only twenty miles from Fredericksburg (just across the Potomac River). Apparently this John Baggott made a will in 1773 in Spotsylvania County, VA, which, at that time, bordered the Potomac River. He named four sons in his will of 1773: James; Thomas; George; and the fifth generation, John Baggott, Jr.
There is a record of a James Baggett, Sr., born 1744 in Virginia, who migrated to North Carolina in 1750 and lived in Anson County until 1779, died in Richmond County in 1789. He had a son, James Baggett, Jr., born ca. 1763 in Anson County, NC, said to have married Lucy Williams and died in 1823. James Baggett, Sr. may be the same James named in the will of John Baggott, Sr. James M. Baggett, lineal ancestor of Pauline Baggott, may be a descendant of one of the sons named in the will. She said that her ancestors were from Manassas and Fredericksburg, so this may be a direct line from John, brother of Nicholas Baggett I (who was in Isle of Wight County, VA in 1673). John is found there in the early 1700s.
Another descendant of John Baggott of Fredericksburg, VA may be John Baggett, born 1828, lineal ancestor of Marjorie Ellen Baggett. It is also possible that William James Baggett, born 1825, ancestor of Irma Baggett Keen, is from this same lineage. If this conjecture stands, most of the other lines listed here are from the same trunk of the Family Tree, descending from the old John Baggott of Surry County, VA, born 1613.
There is no theory on who these other lines descend from. The lineage in Thomas County, GA may be from Abraham Baggett I. Another Elias Baggett is shown as the eldest son of Abraham Baggett III. The lineage of Marguerite Baggett and Mary Maupin is probably descended from either Nicholas Baggett III, Uzziel Baggett, son of Allen, or Barnaby Baggett. All these have descendants in Texas.
