In this section, we present the ancient history of the family in Flanders, Normandy, England, Australia, the United States, and many other countries of the world. They are found in the ninth century in Artois in ancient Flanders, now a part of France, Belgium, and the Netherlands. However, according to Ralph Baggett (one of our correspondents), they are found in many countries before they appeared in Artois. His research and information states that in many instances they are direct descendants of royalty in earlier recorded history.
