Lewis Baggett He is my Great Grandfather on my mothers side of the family. I do not know where he was born, except that all census records showed that he was born in Mississippi. I do not know where he was married but he was in the Covington County, Alabama census in 1830. (He was married in 1833). He was a produce dealer on N. Royal Street at the time of his death, 26 Aug 1870. His body was shipped abroad. (Sextons report-City of Mobile.) He married Lucinda Berry 3 November 1833.  Item II. Lewis Baggett and Nancy Small They were married 30 November 1853 in Selma, Alabama, Dallas County, Alabama. Interesting that his daughter, Catherine was married 24 November 1853 to James W. Patrick in Selma also. Item III. Nancy Small Baggett was born about 1837 and died 26 June 1911in Mobile. She is buried in Magnolia Cemetery. She married W.F. Jones in Mobile County 3 September 1874 Item IV. Theodosia Baggett, born 27 June 1860 in Aquilia, Alabama, married Milton Smith 26 July 1876 in Mobile, Alabama. She died 5 September 1939 and is buried in Magnolia Cemetery. Item V. Johnnie Branson (John William Branson) was born 8 January 1861, married my maternal grandmother, Jannie Baggett (born 7 November 1866), 26 January 1886. John died 28 April 1913 and Jannie died 24 June 1914. Both are buried in Magnolia Cemetery. Item VI. Catharine Baggett was born 17 February 1839 and died 25 October 1887. She is buried in Hampden Cemetery in Marengo County, Alabama. She married James W. Patrick 24 November 1853 in Selma (Dallas County), Alabama. He was born 6 February 1825 and died l3 February 1909. He is buried in County Line Cemetery, on the county line of Wilcox and Marengo Counties. They settled in the Grove Hill and Thomasville, Alabama, area. Item VII. Lillie Mae Baggett born 18 September 1870. She married Joseph D. Boyles 1 April 1907 in Toulminville, Alabama. He was born 30 October 1849 and died 14 September 1913. She died 1 April 1943. Both are buried in Magnolia Cemetery, Mobile, Alabama. Item VIII. Lillie Nora Branson, my aunt, was born 3 Nov 1886 and died 9 December 1947. She married William Frank Richardson 17 March 1907 in Prichard, Alabama. He was born 1883 and died 1938. Both are buried in Magnolia Cemetery. Item IX. Artie Mae Branson, my aunt, married John Matthew Pearson 31 October 1909 in Prichard, Alabama. She was born 20 May 1888 and died 16 May 1951. John was born 22 January 1884 and died 18 February 1979. Item X. Louis Branson, my uncle, was born 15 August 1890 and died 19 July 1980. He married Pearl Dean who was born 2 May 1901. Item XI. Theodosia Branson, my mother, was born 16 July 1892 and died 11 May 1975. She married Nicholas Jefferson Moulyet 21 April 1912 in Prichard, Alabama. He was born 17 December 1884 and died 5 January 1975. Both are both buried in Magnolia Cemetery. She was born in Buccatunna, Mississippi and he was born in Silver Hill, Alabama. |
