2:8 Nicholas Baggett, Jr. (III)
or Nicholas A. Baggot III (son of Nicholas Baggett II), born ca. 1721,
died 1762, married Martha Wood in about 1740 in Northampton County, daughter
of Benjamin Wood. (Nicholas only named one child in his last Will and Testament
in History, Chapter VIII, but the evidence shows that he had other children.)
Among their children are, according to plausible evidence:
3:1 Lewis Baggett (a principal
heir of his father), born ca. 1741, died before 1787 (according to a Guardian
Bond dated 3 December 1787 in Northampton County, NC), married Sarah Martin,
born ca. 1743, died ca. 1811 (conjectural). (Sarah Martin married [second]
Thomas Draper.) Lewis Baggett's children:
4:1 Nicholas Baggett, born ca.
1773, died ca. 1828, lived in the Orangeburg District of South Carolina
in the 1790s and went to the Mississippi Territory in 1812, married (we

District with his first wife Catherine.
4:2 Jesse married [2nd] 6 May
1810 in Amite County, MS Mary Robertson, born ca. 1780, died some time
after the 1830 census. The 1830 census shows widow Mary with eight children;
four females and four males. One of their sons was, according to our records:
5:1 Lewis Baggett, born
1815 in Louisiana. Lewis married 30 May 1844 in Louisiana Laura Wade. She
was born in 1824.

some time before 1790); 4:9 Nicholas Baggett, born 1790, died after 1850.

1780, died after 1850, married [first] Renéy

died 19 September 1935, daughter of James W. Perkins and Hancy Ann Toombs.
Their daughter:
7:1 Hancy Ann Baggett,
born 4 February 1884, died 31 December 1969, married 14 January 1909 Charles
Edwin Harrison, born 16 November 1871 in Fairfield County, SC, died 26

Daniel Harrison, born 18 October 1908, died 18 August 1980, buried Shreveport,

Jr., born Pulaski County, GA 5 December 1811, died Clark County, MS 15
May 1895, married Susan
?, born GA ca. 1820, died after 1916. The1850 census of Wayne County, MS
shows Thomas C. as a merchant; the 1860 as a Master Mechanic; the 1870
as a Carpenter. They moved from Alabama around 1845 to Mississippi. In
a General Affidavit made in Clarke County, MS on 30 June 1893 shows that
Thomas C. Baggett, Jr. had always distinguished himself from his father
as "Choice Baggett," because they both had the same name, Thomas Choice
Baggett. After the death of his father in ca. 1845-50 in Alabama, he then
began using the Thomas in business matters, though he was continued to
be called by the name Choice. They are shown to have had seven children,
although the 1870 census of Clarke County shows that they had only six
children living with them: (1) Clarissa C., age 26, born FL; (2) Josephine
R., age 23; (3) Mary A., age 19; (4) Lucy C., age 15; (5) Martha, age 8;
(6) Thomas C. Baggett III, age 2 (all other children born in MS). Susan's
maiden name may have been Carraway, because the 1870 census of Clarke County
shows that they had boarders with this name.

enlisted at Hineston, LA as a private in Co. G, 16th Louisiana Infantry,
died in Civil War in ca. 1865.

living with her son-in-law, Alford Childress, in 1850 at age 86. (There
is no solid evidence that Joel is a son of Nicholas III, but based on the
last Will and Testament of Anthony Herring and other significant pieces
of evidence, these provide plausible proof that he was a son of Nicholas
III.) Their children (all conjectural except Penelopy, Bedia, and Joel):

History, Chapter VIII.) Children of Joel Baggett and Jane Beland:

ca. 1817 in Jones County, GA, died (not on 1880 census), married 7 January
